It expires at some point, when you are no longer "newbie" ... don't know when exactly but it dempends on your weaponskills mainly i think.

I think it ends when your weapon skills total about 1200-1300. I was training up my secondaries to get some stat bonuses for safer training after 300 and it disappeared. So it's kind of helpful for the first 2-3 days lol I wish I would have asked that question before I started doing secondaries =P Is there a pay to win option yet?

It will expire once all of your weapon skills (not general skills, just wep) have a cumulative number of..I forget what the exact number is.

Point being:

Don't train any seconds. Train main wep, and only main, until soft cap (currently 1335) before you even think about touching seconds.

The Bonus WILL last until soft cap.

If you're interested to play again I suggest to read the compilation of stax updates in the announcement section of this forum. You will see that things have evolved! ;)

You will be particulary interested by the Stax Rinascimento Project on page 2.

To summarize how works the friendly newbie bonus, here you are:

3. Put the server at reach of new players

-480% xp bonus for new characters
Mega-boost for the noob bonus, to give incentives to anyone who would be interested to create a char but is scared of never catching up. With such boost, softcap should be reachable extremely fast...

Players will start with 160 skills in their main weapon and have a 480% bonus until total weapon skill reaches 1300, and 250% until 1650, then it drops to 190% until 2200 (remember that with new XP formula everyone else will be at 160% now). This means that if a new player focuses on main weapon skill only:
-he gets 480% bonus until 1,000 main skill
-he gets 250% bonus from 1,000 to 1,350 main skill
-he gets 190% bonus for 550 more weapon skills
-he gets 160% bonus after that (like everyone else)

-No HP reduction for noob encounters
Unlike high-end spots.

-Better starting gear
New players will now start with chainmail armor and 200 potions.

Side notes
- your skill won't decreased by 1/month until you reached 1300.
- fight you can get from moving is halved what you got before

Advices
- focus on main skill only (if you need extra stats you can complete shaman quests you need to hunt weak creatures but when you achieve one you get a stat dex/str or constit which can be helpful when your character is young: you need about 8days to complete one. If you even finish the last quest released you will also get 1000xp in main, 1000xp in leadership and a general academy ticket which will be helpful to raise runic/fleeing which will help you a lot)
- intelligence only play a role till you reach 200 because you know start at 160 in main skill choosing a race with low intelligence isn't that hard for main (ok you still sucks raising other skills)
- runic is always a must
- choose dark faction! (no that was a joke! Choose whatever pleases you and welcome back)

Cheers,
Eurynome
